Owl City, One Direction, Miley
Cyrus, Ke$ha, Jonas Brothers, Nickleback, Metallica, Justin Bieber. These are
bands you will not hear about on this blog. If you are into those bands, please
navigate yourself to a different page. With that, I will add that in some of
the music I review here may be some explicit content. If you’re old enough to
be on the internet, I’m sure you can handle a few swear words.
Now that we’ve weeded out the idiots,
let’s talk about me. My name is Sarah, and the earliest band I can remember
enjoying is Nirvana. At age four I was rocking out to About a Girl. I’m a boring teenager at a typical high school in
America. This blog is for a class I’m taking, but I’m glad I was able to choose
something that I enjoyed.
I’m mostly into older rock; Led
Zeppelin, Aerosmith, The Doors, the Beatles, Queen, etc. I also am into some
more current rock like Halestorm, Theory of a Deadman, System of a Down, Nine
Inch Nails, and Seether. But for the most part I think I’ll stick to my older
picks because less people know about their splendor. Now don’t get me wrong,
I’m into a lot of different kinds of music. I’m sure within a few weeks I’ll
have a few posts of classical, so don’t shut me down quite yet. I also
occasionally jam to show tunes, mostly Grease and Dr. Horrible’s Sing A Long
Blog, I like to think I’m fairly open minded. The only genre I can think of
that I absolutely hate is polka. Sorry to my polka fans.
Referring to above, I’m sure you’re
shocked I don’t like Metallica, but I just don’t. I feel like I should, but no
matter how hard I try or how frequently I try, I just am not a fan of the way
they balance their guitar and drum sound (or rather how they don’t balance it).
The reason I decided to base this blog on my taste in music is because I’m told
I have such a particular taste.
Now that we have all that out of the
way, this blog is going to be about my favorite picks of music. With every post
I’ll try to find a link to a clean version of whatever song I’m blogging about,
but I can’t always promise that. When I can’t find a clean version, I’ll try to
set out a warning. If (when) I forget, please don’t tear my head off. Its luck
every morning I get up and remember my glasses.
